On the top floor of a building on Boulevard Saint-Germain, this 37-square-meter apartment has been redesigned around a central volume that redistributes spaces, streamlines circulation and reveals an unobstructed view of the Parisian rooftops and Notre-Dame.

À deux pas de la place Gambetta, ce studio longtemps inoccupé souffrait de son plan cloisonné. Porté par la perspective qu’offrait son large balcon ouvert sur Paris, et sous le geste de l’architecte d’intérieur Romuald Lassagne, il se transforme pour libérer ses volumes et affirmer une énergie aux accents seventies.

A stone’s throw from Place Gambetta, this long-unoccupied studio suffered from its compartmentalized layout. Buoyed by the perspective offered by its large balcony overlooking Paris, and under the guidance of interior designer Romuald Lassagne, it has been transformed to liberate its volumes and assert an energy with seventies accents.

Réuni puis transformé au fil des années, cet ancien ensemble de chambres de service est devenu un appartement familial de 70 mètres carrés. Un projet mené par Benjamin, architecte et propriétaire, entre récupération des combles, optimisation des volumes et reprise structurelle.

Reunited and transformed over the years, this former group of service rooms has become a 70-square-meter family apartment. Benjamin, the architect and owner, led the project, which involved reclaiming the attic space, optimizing volumes and reworking the structure.

Le défi : préserver l’âme d’un canut tout en créant un lieu lumineux et modulable - The challenge: preserving the soul of a canut while creating a bright, flexible space.

Ce projet est avant tout une aventure intime : il s’agit du propre appartement de l’architecte d’intérieur Avril Vincent, acheté à la fin de ses études et conçu comme un « book vivant ». Un espace atypique, chargé d’histoire, où l’architecture devient un manifeste personnel.

This project is first and foremost an intimate adventure: it involves interior designer Avril Vincent’s own apartment, purchased upon completion of her studies and designed as a « living book ». An atypical space, steeped in history, where architecture becomes a personal manifesto.
